Research focus

Our group studies mechanisms of cellular morphogenesis, growth regulation and cell-to-cell communication. A favorite study object of the lab are root hairs of plants, as we are fascinated by the robustness of their cell shape and the plasticity of their growth. We develop microdevices that enable quantitative microscopy of signaling and subcellular dynamics in growing roots in structured environments or under changing environmental conditions.
