Public Plenary Discussion on Food Security and the Future of Plant Breeding

Are we able to ensure global food security based on the current status of plant science?

Experts from academia and industry discuss what contribution plant sciences can make to increase the yield to feed a growing world population in spite of climate change, limited global resources and water shortages.

Should molecular genetic techniques, like genome editing be used to reduce hunger in future, although there are many reservations about these technologies. How does the acceptance of modern plant breeding methods in Western countries differ from developing countries? Questions like these will be discussed.
