Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

At CEPLAS, we believe that scientific excellence and equity and diversity go hand in hand. We are dedicated to creating an inclusive environment in our recruitment processes, working conditions, and opportunities for advancement.

We recognize the barriers faced by underrepresented groups in science and address these through a comprehensive, multi-level approach. Our strategy involves refining our structures, processes, and practices to be more equitable. Additionally, we offer tailored support to meet the unique needs of our community members, ensuring that everyone has the chance to succeed in their academic careers- regardless of gender, sexual orientation or identity, cultural and social background, family situation, state of health or age.

Our Equity, Diversity & Inclusion framework comprises a strategic set of measures across short-, mid-, and long-term timelines designed around three key activity areas:  women@CEPLAS, Work-Life Integration, and Promoting a gender- and diversity-conscious organizational culture.

Annual statistics

Systematic data collection and monitoring are essential for tracking representation within the cluster and guiding actions to promote equity and diversity. To ensure transparency, CEPLAS issues an annual report that details the cluster’s composition with a focus on internationality and gender balance. This includes a descriptive analysis of gender distribution across status groups, which aids in monitoring our progress towards fostering a diverse research community.
