Early Career Researcher Retreat

After a long break, this year‘s Early Career Researcher Retreat took place last week in Schleiden-Gemünd. Within a forest filled with autumn colours, the group consisting of 59 doctoral researchers and Postdocs from CEPLAS and from IPK Gatersleben had great two days full of networking and learning.

Two softskill workshops were offered with the topics leadership and conflict management. Additionally, there was a Deep learning workshop held by Jędrzej Jakub Szymański and finally a Keynote about science communication held by David Spencer. Everybody received valuable feedback and ideas for their projects during a poster session in which no posters, but graphical subtracts have been used to present the own research. To keep in touch and to gain an overview of the diverse research represented, the participants received a digital abstract booklet.

In the evening there was enough time for a fun game in which groups had to compete against each other in sports, sensory tasks and Science and CEPLAS knowledge. 

This event has been organized by the CEPLAS Coordinators and ECR Representatives with help from CEPLAS students.
