Research Focus
My PhD will focus on how can we quantify the effect of fluctuating light condition affects the photosynthesis process. I will try to establish a model of the NPQ (non photochemical quenching) process - a protection mechanism that helps plant deal with excessive light - under the effect of changing light condition. The effect of fluctuating light in theory will lead to a very dynamics of NPQ induction and relaxation, which hypothetically may have an effect on photosynthesis productivity.
