Research Focus
My PhD project aims at two main questions regarding the roles of TELOMERE REPEAT BINDING FACTORS (TRBs) in plant epigenetics and the regulation of gene expression. The first is deciphering whether the observed enrichment of TRB1 binding sites at tRNA genes and other genes involved in translation links to a mechanistic role of TRB1 at these sites to affect target gene expression. Another aspect of my project is to investigate why trb mutants flower early in cold ambient temperatures when there is some long day signal.
