Trehalose 6-phosphate (Tre6P) is a sucrose-specific signalling molecule with hormone-like functions in plants. As such it influences various metabolic and developmental processes like embryogenesis, shoot branching or flowering. Despite this, little is known about the effect of Tre6P on root development. My project aims to elucidate the role of Tre6P in the complex interaction network that shapes the root architecture.
