Plant stem cell homeostasis is a tightly regulated and dynamic process. Employing a novel optogenetic gene expression system, controlled by precise illumination with a confocal laser scanning microscope, I aim to elucidate the underlying molecular mechanisms with a very high spatiotemporal resolution.
