Research focus
We investigate the gene regulatory networks that control cell fate decisions in the barley shoot meristem. Combining spatial transcriptomics, confocal microscopy and developmental genetics in wild type and mutants, we aim to reconstruct a 3D+t atlas of meristem progression from the vegetative stage to inflorescence formation and later stages, and to link spatial gene expression patterns to plant architecture.
