Dr Eliza Loo, a CEPLAS member and research group leader at the Institute of Molecular Physiology at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, has been awarded €120,000 in funding for the next two years by the Klaus Tschira Boost Fund.

As part of the “Predictive Rhizobiome Networks for Functional Microbiome Engineering” project, she intends to investigate the interaction of microorganisms in crops. Her aim is to map root-associated microorganisms and study their metabolic activity. Based on this, interaction networks will be created that can predict microbial integration.
