INSPIRE. Career talks with women plant scientists
With this talk, we launch a new event-series entitled “INSPIRE. Career talks with women plant scientists“, which is organized as a collaboration between CEPLAS and CRC 1208. Herewith, we aim to increase the visibility of women in science especially in high-ranking positions, in brief their scientific field and major discoveries along with their personal CVs, stories and their individual personalities and competencies.
Meetings with various women scientists will illustrate how diverse and unique career paths can be, so with this format we hope to inspire (especially!) women early career researchers to consider pursuing their own particular career track in science (in or outside academia).
The first event is a career talk with Prof. Dr. Caroline Gutjahr, Associate Professor for Plant Genetics at the Technical University Munich, and from February 2023 onwards Director of the department "Root Biology and Symbiosis" at Max Planck Institute of Molecular Plant Physiology, Potsdam-Golm.
Please join us for the one-hour online event, where Caroline Gutjahr will give a short presentation about her personal career trajectory and address some of the most important decisions and turning points. After this presentation, we invite you to discuss and ask any of your questions and get a better understanding of what it may take to become an established scientist.
Though the main target group are women researchers, early career researchers of all genders are welcome to join.
When: Wednesday, December 7th, 1 to 2pm
