Research focus

Our research seeks to uncover the regulatory principles of plant photosynthesis under natural light conditions. More specifically, we are interested in understanding how the light and dark reactions of photosynthesis synchronize their activities in response to light fluctuations or other environmental perturbations. Thereby, we employ cross-dimensional approaches, resolving regulatory responses of entire organisms down to single molecules on various time scales. For this purpose, we combine whole plant spectroscopy with genetically encoded biosensors and molecular techniques.
