Research Focus

In the face of urgent challenges posed by climate change, there is a growing emphasis on "environment" in understanding the relationship between genotype, phenotype and environment. To further our understanding of photosynthesis in relevant field conditions, and to select genetic variants with improved photosynthetic efficiency under those conditions, we will establish phenotyping platforms that allow in situ capturing of photosynthesis traits under simulated field-like conditions and climate scenarios. We will work closely with computational biologists to design experiments and analyze data towards simulating G x E interactions in model plants and crop species.
