CEPLAS scientists participate in international science communication festival

Same as in recent years, CEPLAS researchers participate also in 2022 in the international science communication festival "Pint of Science".

After 2 years of online events, we are looking forward to an on-site event at the Café Weise in Düsseldorf, the Stapelbar in Cologne and the Tankstelle in Cologne.

However, plants use a special trick: they surround themselves with certain microorganisms that protect them from other disease-causing microorganisms. Understanding this interaction can help us develop sustainable crop protection strategies.

  Natürliche Pflanzenschutzmittel
  Mais ist eine der wichtigsten Nutzpflanzen der Welt. Es ist daher wichtig nach natürlichen Pflanzenschutzmitteln zu suchen, die die Selbstverteidigung der Pflanzen ankurbeln. Um gesündere und resistentere Maispflanzen zu züchten, muss man aber verstehen wie diese überhaupt Angriffe wahrnehmen. Diese Abläufe im Detail zu verstehen, kann am Ende helfen Erträge zu erhöhen und zugleich die Belastung durch Pestizide für Böden und Umwelt zu reduzieren.
