A CEPLAS career and networking event for female scientists

Workshops about ‘voice & body language’, ‘strategic thinking’ and ‘resilience’ attracted 24 female scientists to participate in this year’s CEPLAS Women in Plant Sciences Day on July 9 at the University of Cologne.

The CEPLAS Women in Plant Sciences Day is a traditional female-specific career event and also an informal exchange platform only for female scientists. This year’s programme comprised three career-related impulse workshops and offered various opportunities for networking and discussions besides the workshops. Katharina Padleschat (RAUS MIT DER SPRACHE!) started the programme and demonstrated the impact of voice and body language and their application in professional context. In the second workshop Dr. Elisabeth Holuscha (Hochschulcoaching) introduced the basis of strategic thinking, an essential skill for successful leadership. In the last workshop module Dr. Ben Hartwig (Neuroblitz) showed different practical exercises to help the participants understanding and increasing their personal resilience. The highly active exchange between participants and trainers made the CEPLAS Women in Plant Sciences Day 2018 a lively, informative and interactive event.
