Research Focus

Cyanobacteria can perform photosynthesis and fix carbon themselves. Nonetheless, they are part of the microbiome of plants and can benefit the growth of their host. I am interested in the molecular mechanisms of these symbiotic interactions between plants and cyanobacteria, especially because both organisms are photosynthetic. I will develop mathematical models and populate and validate them with experimental data to learn what both organisms can gain from each other.
