Research focus

Phytohormones are regulating developmental processes and stress responses in plants, but also exhibit a crucial role in the regulation of photosynthesis. To understand the interplay of complex phytohormone networks and their influences on photosynthetic efficiency in a quantitative fashion, we develop dynamic mathematical models of metabolism and signalling processes. Our models help us understand how phytohormone-regulated changes in the chloroplast affect photosynthetic efficiency and to develop strategies how plant performance can be optimized.
