Research Focus

Plant growth is determined by changing environmental conditions. Micronutrient availability, in particular iron, is of crucial importance for plant growth and productivity hence providing nutritionally rich diet for human consumption. So far, the regulatory networks that steer shoot iron response is not well understood. In my PhD work I will focus on the regulation of shoot iron homeostasis with meristematic events and signaling in the vasculature. I aim to establish a regulatory network that functions to adjust shoot developmental processes to iron availability.
