About the author

Ilyse Putz is a PhD student in the group of Maria von Korff Schmising at the Institute of Plant Genetics (HHU). She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology and German in the U.S. before coming to Germany and joining the CEPLAS Graduate School. Since 2021, she has been focusing on disentangling the genetic control of perennial and annual life cycles in the grass clade Hordeum.
