A tale of plant roots, sugar and soil microbes

CEPLAS Postdoc Eliza Loo has interviewed a group of people from different education levels, professions and ages. The purpose is to understand how much the general public knows about her field of study, and how to best describe her work to them. Do you want to know more about the interviews and how Eliza describes the mechanism of sugar transport between plants and microbes. Watch the video!

Planter’s Punch

Under the heading Planter’s Punch we present each month one special aspect of the CEPLAS research programme. All contributions are prepared by our early career researchers.

About the author

Eliza Loo is a post-doctoral researcher currently working on dissecting the mechanism of nutrient transport between plants and their (roots) microbiota. Her Ph.D. focused on the roles of plants’ immune signalling components in the crosstalk between biotic and abiotic stresses. By applying her knowledge and experiences in diverse plant-research topics, she aims to understand the complicated relationship between plants, microbes, and the environment.
