This year, 8 graduate and undergraduate students from WSU are hosted in CEPLAS research groups at HHU, UzK, and MPIPZ. The goal is to decipher complex plant traits to increase crop resistance and yield. WSU received nearly $300,000 from the National Science Foundation to support WSU students in Germany. Over the next two years, an additional 16 students will have the opportunity to participate in this program at CEPLAS.

To kick off the research program, the guests were welcomed to UzK and given a tour of the university campus. Projects were then presented and the first day was completed with a barbecue in the garden of the Institute of Plant Sciences.
