Guided Tours in the Botanical Garden

On six Sundays in July and September, Peter Westhoff and Andreas Weber invite you to learn more about plants. Tours are for free!

<link internal-link internal link in current>Prof. Westhoff, director of the Botanical Garden, is offering an guided tour on the topic "Vom Maisanbau der Mayas zum heutigen Superfood“ (only in German) on 09.07., 16.07. and 17.09.2017. The tour is in line with this year’s CEPLAS lecture series.  For that reason, some crops in the Botanical Garden were planted in the crop-growing system „Milpa“, which was invented by the Mayan culture and will be demonstrated by Peter Westhoff.

On 23.07., 30.07. and 24.09., <link internal-link internal link in current>Prof. Weber offers tours on the topic "Nutzpflanzen der Zukunft – Energie und Nahrung für kommende Generationen" (only on German). Andreas Weber will introduce different energy plants , e.g. Miscanthus and Silphie within the CEPLAS section.

Guided tours start always at 3 pm. Meeting point is the „Kuppelgewächshaus“ of the Botanical Garden at Heinrich Heine University. Tours are offered for free, no registration necessary. We are looking forward seeing you!
