Expression and characterization of P450s and oxidosqualene cyclases involved in plant terpernoid biosynthesis

Our aim is to investigate selected cytochrome P450 enzymes and oxidosqualene cyclases of Arabidopsis thaliana, involved in terpenoid biosynthesis. As heterologous hosts Escherichia coli and Pichia pastoris will be used to produce recombinant enzymes at concentrations, sufficient for their characterization in vitro. Additionally, P. pastoris should be tested as potential producer of plant terpenoids.
