Our research focuses on the regulation of stem cell homeostasis in plant roots. Roots are essential for higher plants, as they provide anchorage in the soil and access to water and nutrients. As plants need to adapt their development and architecture upon external and internal cues, fundamental work on the source of all plant tissues and organs, the plant stem cells, is pivotal to understand current limits, but also future opportunities to fortify plants against adverse climate conditions to ensure food security.
