The project goal is to investigate the role played by variation in gene expression regulation in processes of polygenic adaptation. The research is based on transcriptome time series collected from Arabidopsis species to identify the cis- and trans- regulatory changes associated with the shift from perennial to annual growth. The data previously generated within RNA-Seq is used to disentangle the effect of temperature and development on expression differences between these species. The research aim is to identify the molecular components whose regulation has been reshaped after the shift in life-history. Using data previously generated by AG Meaux on positive and negative evolutionary forces in these same populations, and ad-hoc dataset for the well-known regulation of flowering time in Arabidopsis, the project goal is to investigate footprints of polygenic selection on the regulation of plant development.
