Research Focus

Plant-associated microbial community had been methodically characterized from different compartments and could be readily distinguished based on their taxonomic composition. However, most of these studies sampled plant-associated microbial communities at a single time-point and therefore could not capture relevant aspects of community dynamics as a function of plant age stage and the life history. I aim to investigate how plant immunity, metabolic and nutritional status change as a function of host age (i.e. developmental stage) and life history (annual vs. perennial), and if these time-dependent physiological changes correspond to and regulate shifts in the associated microbial community.
