AvH Award Winner Prof. Wolf-B. Frommer starts at HHU

Prof. Wolf-B. Frommer was awarded and successfully appointed to the prestigious Alexander von Humboldt Professorship and will start in April 2017.

From April on, Prof. Wolf-B. Frommer will contribute within the framework of CEPLAS with his expertise on different transport mechanisms in plants. Before coming back to Germany, he had an appointment as Professor in the Department of Plant Biology at Stanford University, USA, and until the begining of 2016 he was also Director of the Carnegie Institution for Science, one of the most renowned centres for plant sciences.

The nomination for an Alexander von Humboldt Professorship was carried out jointly by Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, the Max Planck Institute for Plant Breeding Research, Cologne and the Forschungszentrum Jülich.
